dieselbilly & truck-stop rock from Commander Cody & Moonlighter guitarist
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $18.50

Come hitch a ride to honky-tonk heaven with Bill Kirchen, the man Guitar Player magazine dubbed the "Titan of the Telecaster!" With his scorching guitar runs and elegant twang, Bill celebrates an American tradition where country music draws upon its origins in blues and bluegrass, and in the western swing of Texas and California honky-tonks, infusing rockabilly music with an irresistible blend of hard-core devotion and flat-out fun.

Bill first gained renown as lead guitarist for Commander Cody & his Lost Planet Airmen, the renegade country-rock band that tuned a whole generation in to the joys of unvarnished rockabilly music. Bill's Telecaster guitar licks drove "Hot Rod Lincoln" into the Top Ten in 1972. Bill still plays the same guitar, and continues to polish his reputation as one of America's premier roots-rock musicians, performing with folks like Nick Lowe and Emmylou Harris and recording red-hot albums like last year's King of Dieselbilly (HighTone).

Tonight Bill and company preview songs from his new CD which is due for release in September. As of this writing the album is unnamed, but we do know that it includes his unforgettable tribute song to his mighty Telecaster, aptly titled "The Hammer of the Honky-Tonk Gods."
