An inspiring performer and an exceptional songwriter, Steve Seskin has been a Freight favorite since the 1970s. While his songs -- an eclectic blend of humor and pathos, love songs and looney tunes -- have been covered by scores of other artists, there’s nothing like seeing Steve cast his spell in live performance. In addition to maintaining his career as one of Nashville’s top songwriters, with hits recorded by the likes of John Michael Montgomery, Waylon Jennings, and Tim McGraw, Steve recently saw his acclaimed song "Don’t Laugh at Me" (co-written with Allen Shamblin) inspire the adoption of a character education curriculum aimed at reducing teasing and bullying, in thousands of schools across the country.

In the past decade, Allen Shamblin has established a firm place in the ranks of the great storytellers of country music. He has seen more than 100 of his vivid, earthy songs recorded by such artists as Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and Bonnie Raitt, including the Randy Travis chart-topping hit "He Walked On Water," which rocketed Shamblin to the forefront of the Nashville songwriting community. Born in Tennessee and raised in Texas, Allen moved to Nashville in the late 1980s, signed on as a staff writer at Hayes Street Music/Almo Music Corp., and within nine months was making a name for himself with songs like "In This Life" and "I Can’t Make You Love Me."
