Praised by banjo legend Sonny Osborne as “the real deal, one of the best singers this style of music has ever produced,” Dale Ann Bradley applies her shimmering, pure voice to a fresh blend of bluegrass, folk and country music. A child of the Kentucky coal fields, Dale Ann first made a name for herself in the 1990s as a member of the famed New Coon Creek Girls. With a wide-ranging repertoire that puts her firmly among performers who are currently reinvigorating the bluegrass field like Alison Krauss, Laurie Lewis, and Claire Lynch, Dale Ann is a mighty guitarist and refreshing songwriter as well as a captivating singer.
She won the 2001 SPBGMA (Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America) Traditional Female Vocalist of the Year Award and was nominated for the 2005 IBMA (International Bluegrass Music Association) award for Female Vocalist of the Year. Backing Dale Ann is a truly stellar band featuring three-time IBMA Fiddle Player of the Year Michael Cleveland, longtime Dale Ann musical cohort Vicki Simmons on bass, mandolin player and former Lynn Morris Band member Jesse Brock, and newest addition, Pete Kelly on banjo. Dale Ann’s most recent release is the gospel bluegrass CD, Send the Angels (Mountain Home).
