A notable innovator on the Irish musical scene today, Dublin-born singer-songwriter Melanie O'Reilly has captivated audiences on both sides of the Atlantic with her blend of Irish traditional music and the contemporary sounds of jazz and bossa nova.

As part of the Freight's St. Patrick's week celebrations, Melanie is joined by guitarist Sean O Nuallain, her partner on the recent, highly regarded duo album Aisling Ghear/Bitter Vision, plus fiddler Bobbi Nikles, cellist Myra Chaney and John Kadyk on clarinet and percussion. Special guest, Irish dancer Eileen Mize spices things up with some fancy footwork.

Acclaimed by The Irish Times for her "Breathtaking and amazing emotional intensity and sheer virtousity," Melanie has won a growing following in Europe and across America with her powerful and haunting\soundscapes. Come prepared to be spellbound!
