acoustic mayhem, David Gans opens
Door 7:30 P.M., Music 8:00 P.M. | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

Here is one group that never fails to bring down the house! Self-described purveyors of "acoustic mayhem," the Waybacks -- guitarists James Nash and Stevie Coyle, bassist Joe Kyle, drummer Chuck Hamilton and newest member, fiddler Warren Hood (formerly of the South Austin Jug Band) -- are an eclectic acoustic quintet of virtuosos with a wide array of Americana idioms at their fingertips. From newgrass and Western swing to jug band and gypsy jazz, from folk and fingerpicking to alt-country and plenty of eccentric originals (with far-flung improvisational excursions in between), The Waybacks embrace multiple genres and put their own dazzling, irreverent stamp on the lot. In so doing, they transcend genre altogether, conjuring up the wild, unpredictable musical landscapes that have put them at the forefront of New American acoustic music.

The group plays air-tight arrangements that swing with fervor and intensity. Tonight they're spotlighting numbers from their soon-to-be-released CD, From The Pasture To The Future, so come on down and prepare to find yourself charmed, exhilarated and drop-jawed, all at the same time!

One-man band, David Gans opens. A singer-songwriter and long-time host of the nationally syndicated Grateful Dead Radio Hour, David presents originals plus other great tunes.
