Celtic music duo
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | CANCELLED

One of the world's finest interpreters of Scottish traditional songs, Andy M. Stewart's beautiful renditions reflect his childhood in Perthshire, where he was raised in a family of fine traditional singers. A tremendously gifted songwriter as well, Andy provided many of the 1970s Scottish music revival's best-known hits, like "Golden, Golden" and "The Ramblin' Rover," as a member of the supergroup Silly Wizard. Andy is also an accomplished tenor banjo and tin whistle player, and his wicked wit and hilarious stories add an extra spark to his performances.

Irish guitarist Gerry O'Beirne, known for his technical dexterity and amazing subtlety, is also an inventive arranger and songwriter, and a fine singer. A self-taught master of the 6- and 12-string guitars, Gerry has toured with folks like Patrick Street, The Sharon Shannon Band, and The Waterboys.

In concert, as on collaborative albums like their most recent, Donegal Rain (Green Linnet), the talents of Andy and Gerry beautifully complement each other in a program that moves from achingly gorgeous ballads to romping jigs and powerful songs based on historic events.
