Singer-songwriter Peter Mulvey injects a contemporary edginess into his writing, distilling funk, folk, and rock influences into songs that are dark, lyrical, and ethereal. The Wisconsin native apprenticed as a street musician in Ireland before immersing himself in Boston's booming acoustic music scene as a subway and club performer, making a name for himself with his guitar style that uses unique, bass-heavy tunings, his smooth, husky voice, and his striking blend of wit and passion.
Now back in Milwaukee, Peter continues to augment his writing and performing skills with economical, resonant songs like those on his recent Kitchen Radio (Signature Sounds), described by the Washington Post as "Walt Whitman-like catalogues of images that blended into cinematic visions of love and corruption . . . the audience was riveted to every note." Greg Trooper opens.
