Dan Bern is a wildly imaginative troubadour whose music has been
described in the New York Times as "topical-political-poetical-sarcastic-
punk-folk." His great free-form poetic lyrics and the power of his raging
tenor generate laughter and controversy (often at the same time) as he
veers from comedy to anger, conjecture to shaggy-dog stories, with side
trips to theology, science fiction, consumer culture, love, art, and
baseball.
The Iowa native has spent his adult years traveling the country,
writing hundreds of songs, and performing them for an ever-expanding
audience. He has released numerous albums, including many EPs of his
rousing topical songs like last year's releases My Country II and
Anthems, featuring audience favorites like "Ostrich Town" and
"Take Back the New Millenium."
