new century southern American troubadour
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

The colorful past of Paul Thorn, a native of good old rockin' blues country in Tupelo, Mississippi, includes gigs performed at the age of three while traveling with his evangelist preacher father, a career as a professional boxer (he went seven rounds with Roberto Duran on national TV), factory work, and skydiving -- not to mention some really great songwriting.

The rich musical heritage of Paul's hometown is evident in his tasty mixture of musical moods, and his personal history shapes the witty, sharply observed songs on albums like his brand-new Are You With Me? Noted as a songwriter in NashvilleTanya Tucker, Shenandoah, and Ronnie Milsap are among those who have recorded his songsPaul brings his high-energy, live-wire solo performance style to the Freight for an evening of jaw-dropping stories and great down-home music.
