The wondrous Webster sisters, Chris and Cassie -- two of the Bay Area's
best singers in any style -- join forces with eclectic flatpicking guitar
virtuoso Scott Nygaard to reinvent traditional songs from the Appalachian
mountains and gems from the great American songbook.
Chris, best
known as lead singer with the Cajun-country-R&B-swing dance band
Mumbo Gumbo, has a sweet, soulful style and witty stage presence.
Cassie is known throughout the baroque music world for her delightful
soprano. In combination, the sisters' voices blend in beautiful, tightly knit
harmonies. Incorporating bluegrass, jazz, Cajun, western swing, and rock
& roll into an original and powerful flat-pick guitar style, Scott has graced
Laurie Lewis' Grant Street band and Tim O'Brien's O'Boys. He has also
won numerous Grammy nominations for his stellar sidemanship and
released two albums on Rounder.
In addition to songs from the traditional
repertoire, Chris and Scott's original material rounds out the set, including
numbers from the trio's recent album, the lovely Ten Thousand Miles.
