After 25 years of delighting audiences with the haunting ballads, beautiful airs, and lively songs of Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany, and Galicia, Golden Bough is ready to take a well-deserved rest: join these longtime Freight favorites as they grace our stage for a last, farewell performance before departing the music scene. Tonight's show, which celebrates the Celtic group's history of lovely, polished music, is also a reunion concert featuring special guests from Golden Bough's past. Current members Paul Espinoza, Margie Butler, and Kathy Sierra, their pristine harmonies backed by Celtic harp, pennywhistle, violin, guitar, accordion, mandolin, and bodhran, will be joined by mandola player Lief Sorbye, fiddlers Florie Brown, Sue Draheim, Alison Bailey, and Margot Duxler, and multi-instrumentalist Richard Ferry for an evening of Golden Bough classics new and old, including selections from the trio's recent album, Songs of the Irish Immigrants. Come on down and help see these old friends out in style!
