Hurricane Sam Rudin
Sunday, February 13, 2005
boogie, blues & jazz piano
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $16.50

Pianist Hurricane Sam Rudin is an exciting pianist and singer, with lightning fast fingers, sure-handed clarity, and the rhythmic intensity of a swing band. Combining blues, jazz, honky-tonk, and rock & roll, he evokes the earthiness of Fats Waller and the frantic energy of Jerry Lee Lewis. With a rough-hewn voice that conveys both drama and humor, Sam's music reflects the whole range of American 20th century vernacular music. Sam's over-the-top energy and style can be heard on his current album, recorded with his band, Hot Shots, Once or Twice a Week. Sam will be joined tonight by David Grisman Quintet flutist, Matt Eakles.
