Michael Johnathon is a folksinger, songwriter, concert performer, author,
and weekly radio show host with a worldwide audience approaching 1
million. Born in upstate New York, Michael spent years traveling through
the Appalachian mountains, guitar and banjo in tow, knocking on doors
and learning the music of the mountain people.
Since making the
step from front porch hootenanny to stage performance, Michael has
dedicated himself to sharing the music and culture he learned in the
mountains, with a series of albumss, books, a radio program -- the
WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour, which he writes and hosts each week --
and, of course, in great performances that blend bluegrass standards,
modern folk classics, and original compositions. His most recent CD is a
live recording, Michael Johnathon and the Folkboy Orchestra In
Concert.
