folk & blues phenom
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | SOLD-OUT

Youthful troubadour Jackie Greene has been setting jaws a-dropping since he burst onto the Sacramento music scene a few years ago, thanks to his awesome talents and irresistible amalgam of American roots music. A singer-songwriter with one foot firmly in the folk traditions of the 1960s and one foot deep in the electric blues, Jackie performs original tunes that run the gamut from rambling Dylan-esque ballads to straight-ahead blues to old-time bluegrass-flavored numbers, showcasing the scope of his talents including tasty fingerstyle guitar, harp blowing, barrelhouse piano, banjo picking, and dobro.

Jackie's 2002 album, Gone Wanderin' (Dig Music), made Rolling Stone Magazine's Top 10 Critics' Choice for that year and won the 2003 California Music Award for Outstanding Blues/Roots Album, and since then he's been sharing stages with the likes of B.B. King, Susan Tedeschi, and Los Lobos. Tonight Jackie plays numbers from his new album, Sweet Somewhere Bound, accompanied by his hot rhythm section, Ben Lefever on drums and Hence Phillips on bass.
