jaw dropping technique & cutting edge compositions
. . . riveting young guitarist celebrates the release of her latest album

Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

"How in the world is she doing that?" seems to be a common reaction to the unconventional acoustic guitar wizardry of Kaki King. A self-taught musician, the 24-year-old Atlanta native has been mesmerizing audiences with her riveting instrumental performances. Thumping basslines, intricate tunings, fluid melodies, and slapping percussion abound in her unique compositions that walk an edgy line between funk, flamenco, and jazz.

Kaki's natural gift for creating striking tones and her passionate, intensely physical style of playing, led Michael Simmons of the L.A. Weekly to proclaim that "She is to the acoustic what Hendrix was to the electric."

In the past year Kaki has been touring with the acts as varied as Marianne Faithful, Keb Mo', and the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, playing Chapman Stick and percussion in the house band for the Off-Broadway hit show, The Blue Man Group, and appearing on network television program's such as NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Tonight, Kaki celebrates the release her latest album, Legs To Make Us Longer (Epic).
