Cosy Sheridan and her music have played everywhere from Carnegie Hall to the Dr. Demento Show, not to mention NPR's "Car Talk ." She has garnered awards from the country's most prestigious songwriting contests, including the Kerrville Folk Festival's NewFolk Award and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival's Troubador Award. She's candid, compassionate, and very sharp, in performances that range from satirical cultural observations to philosophical musings on how to be a more complete human being, from the tribal behaviour of women in public restrooms to a modern retelling of the descent of Persephone. All of this is showcased with a mastery of pacing and sophisticated guitar work, inspiring the Boston Globe to call her "a wonderfully lively, very funny and enormously amiable entertainer, with a keen and wicked eye for the excesses of our fast-food, tv-happy, and noisome culture." Cosy's latest album is a collection of satirical tunes titled Botox Tango.
