Marley's Ghost

the one-band folk festival
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

Among the Freight's best-loved acts, Marley's Ghost achieves the seemingly impossible with its audacious blend of English folk roots and Jamaican reggae, not to mention gospel, country, R&B, even Scottish bagpipe tunes-and it all works like a dream! (There's probably no other band around that could segue seamlessly between Bob Marley's "One Love" and Tim O'Brien's "Late In The Day", Bob Dylan's "Leopard Skin Pillbox Hat", and Van Morrison's "And It Stoned Me.")

The group features Jon Wilcox's mandolin and guitar, Mike Phelan's electric, acoustic, lap steel, and resonator guitars and fiddle, Dan Wheetman's banjo, bass, and guitars, and Ed Littlefield's bagpipes and various guitars. With inspired four-part vocal harmonies, often sung a cappella, the quartet is a favorite on the festival circuit and in clubs throughout the world.
