Kiki Ebsen, Kenny Edwards and Suzanne Paris may not exactly be household names, but it's certainly not for lack of talent. Tonight's show puts a well-deserved spotlight on the songwriting and stage prowess of a trio of musicians better known, until now, in their roles supporting other performers.
Clever songwriting, gorgeous vocals and fresh, pop-flavored arrangements combine in singer-songwriter Kiki Ebsen's work. While Kiki is known for her smoky vocals and the finesse of her piano work, the craft and lyrical depth of her songs is notable in her new album, Love Loud, which she showcases tonight. She has accompanied dozens of headline artists in concert, video and television appearances, including Christopher Cross, Tracey Chapman, and Kenny Loggins.
A name well-known within the industry, native Californian Kenny Edwards has produced, written for, and performed with folks like Linda Ronstadt, Don Henley, Warren Zevon, and Karla Bonoff. Although he's been playing professionally since the '60s, Kenny released his first solo CD only two years ago; the eponymously named album showcases his fine songwriting and superb guitar talent as well as his passion for blues, roots-rock, and country music.
A singer-songwriter originally from Colorado, Suzanne Paris has an appealing style that combines bluesy folk-rock with a touch of contemporary pop. She backs a powerful, melodic vocal delivery with passionate guitar work. After years of supporting Dave Mason and others in the business, Suzanne recently released her debut CD, Pink Lipstick.
