leading traditional music duo
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $17.50

Jody Stecher and Kate Brislin's skillful blend of bluegrass, folk, and old-time country has won the hearts of fans throughout the world. Jody and Kate, who possess two of the most acclaimed voices in traditional American music, also have an amazing ability to capture the essence of a tune. Digging straight to the heart of a song, they provide a masterful setting for their soulful harmonies with superb fiddle, guitar, banjo, and mandolin playing, bringing the music they love to life.

It is not surprising that Jody and Kate have twice been nominated for Grammy Awards, most recently for their album Heartsongs, a collection of the old time country songs of Utah Phillips. The duo is continuing its busy recording pace, most recently with Songs of the Carter Family, along with Jody's solo album of British ballads, Oh the Wind and Rain, both on the Appleseed label.

As usual, no one puts it better than Utah Phillips: "If the great swirling mass of folk music has a solid persistent unwavering center, that is who Kate and Jody are."
