Come celebrate a double album release party with unique Bay Area singer songwriters Beth Robinson and Doug Blumer. Beth Robinson's lush voice and vulnerable style have been gaining a growing following at venues throughout the Bay Area, and she's one of the select few Freight Open Mic performers to win billing in two of our "Best of the Hoots" nights. Tonight, Beth performs originals from Heart of a Hunter, a stylish collection of intensely personal, thought-provoking grooves, supported by a hot band featuring Doug Blumer on lead guitar, Ken Owens on drums, Rob McLucky on electric bass, and Patrick Conway on percussion. Known to many Bay Area alt-country aficionados for his vocals and guitar work with the folk-pop trio The Westerleys, Doug Blumer takes the stage tonight with several special guests. He'll be mixing original 1940s style "crooner" songs from his first solo effort, 10 of Hearts, with country-rock numbers from his new album, 12 Pack.
