country blues favorites
Door 7:30pm, Music 8:00pm | Purchase advance tickets: $15.50

Alice Stuart entertains and inspires with style, finesse, and a great sense of humor -- not to mention a voice that could melt the polar ice caps and some of the grittiest, low-downest guitar licks around. Originally from Chelan, Washington, Alice first laid hands on her Martin D18 during the early 1960s, immersing herself in the blues after hearing records of legends like Bessie Smith and Blind Willie McTell. In the following years, Alice toured and performed with everyone from Mississippi John Hurt and Doc Watson to Frank Zappa and his Mothers of Invention. She also helped blaze the trail for women, writing her own music, fronting a band, and playing lead guitar on national and international circuits. Alice's latest album, Can't Find No Heaven, is an inimitable blend of country, blues, and ballads epitomizing American music's gritty undercurrent of raunch and roll.
