Capturing the spirit of their local Rincon Coast with acoustic music that is pure, yet wild, expansive, and free, the Rincon Ramblers present a tasty, eclectic repertoire of classics and originals, roaming from modern and traditional folk and bluegrass to Celtic, Cajun, and r&b -- and if you're really lucky, they might even round out the evening with a "progressive surfgrass" number.
The group combines the talents of four of the South Coast's most respected musicians: the soulful Jon Wilcox (Marley's Ghost) on mandolin and vocals, celebrated "newgrass" fiddler Phil Salazar (the Acousticats) on fiddle and vocals, and dynamic multi-instrumentalists Bill Flores and Danny Wilson combine to produce a sound that is commanding, inventive, and fresh. The Ramblers have spent the last decade performing at a variety of West Coast venues and music festivals, and recording fine albums like their 1997 release, The Green Rolling Hills of La Conchita. |
