An inspiring performer and an exceptional songwriter, Bay Area resident Steve Seskin has been a Freight favorite since the 1970s. While his songs - an eclectic blend of humor and pathos, love songs and looney tunes - have been covered by scores of other artists, there's nothing like seeing Steve cast his spell in live performance. Totally relaxed and spontaneous onstage, he maintains a patter between songs that is just as entertaining as his music (and that's saying a lot). In additiona to maintaining his career as one of America's top songwriters, last year, Steve released his sixteenth album, An Original, and saw his acclaimed song "Don't Laugh at Me" inspire the adoption of a character education curriculum aimed at reducing teasing and bullying, in thousands of schools across the country.
Tonight, Steve shares the stage with Christine Kane, a singer-songwriter from Asheville, North Carolina with an earthy, elegant voice. Written from the heart without being sentimental or self-indulgent, Christine's songs are poignant observations of modern society and ordinary and extraordinary people. Over the past seven years, Christine has headlined at several music festivals and performed with Concerts for a Landmine Free World and many other humanitarian events. Tonight she performs songs from her new self-produced album, Rain and Mud and Wild and Green. |
