Join an amazing array of Bay Area artists as they celebrate International Women's Day with an exciting, boundary-hopping revue of jazz, blues, classical and the works of some outstanding local singer-songwriters. Our MC for the evening will be the incomparable Barbara Dane, who sings and speaks with all the grace and authority acquired in a four-decades-long career of acclaimed musical performance and social activism.

Also on hand is Ronnie Gilbert (pictured above), a leading voice in music and activist circles for a half century. A founding member of the legendary folk ensemble, the Weavers, Ronnie is a playwright, singer, and actress, who has performed and created works that have appeared in a range of venues, from small experimental theaters to Broadway stages.

Lifting their voices from the stage will be the effervescent vocalist and piano virtuoso Barbara Higbie, folk music veteran multi-faceted artists Jennifer Berezan and Jamie Anderson, jazz songstress Tina Marzell, the soulful Natasha Miller, smoky blues vocalist Shanna Carlson, jazzy contralto Anna de Leon, classical soprano Francine Lancaster, and the Freight's own Suzanne Fox.

Accompanying these performers in various combinations is a stellar lineup of musicians including the sumptuous jazz stylings of pianist Ellen Hoffman, fresh and passionate guitarist Mimi Fox, violinist and composer India Cooke, hot sax player Madelyn Duran, Celtic harpist Natalie Cox, and vocalists Stephanie Bruce and Martha Brown.
