acclaimed progressive bluegrass band from Switzerland

"I haven't heard a set of music in many a day that I enjoyed more than I did the Kruger Brothers' . . . as the old saying goes, I was in hog heaven," and with a plug like that from legendary guitarist, Doc Watson, you can't go wrong!

This high-energy bluegrass band was formed ten years ago when two Swiss brothers, banjo ace Jenz Kruger, and accomplished guitarist Uwe, teamed up with their "soul brother," New York bassist, Joel Landsberg (and if you're thinking that Switzerland and bluegrass sound a bit incompatible, please remember the yodeling angle).

Each brings to the mix deep classical music influences that imbue their acoustic string music with a uniquely rich flavor. In combination, the three create music that is spontaneous and entertaining, shining with their sheer joy in playing together. The "brothers" recently released their eighth album, Up18North.
