Iranian-born, Berkeley-based singer-songwriter Arin Simonian and her all-star band offer an evening of Latin-jazz grooves, swampy blues, and breezy folk songs, tinted with the sounds of the Middle East. Joined on stage by renowned jazz guitarist Mimi Fox, Aaron Germain on upright bass, Adam Goodhue on drums, Ben Scarola on percussion, and Zach Pitt-Smith on soprano saxophone and clarinet, Arin will perform new material as well as songs off her newly released debut album, All These Wounds. Arin's fine guitar work and memorable voice, which swoops back and forth from lucid artlessness to breathy seduction, complement her poetic, intelligent songs, full of strong images and gorgeous melodies.
