one-man house-rocker

Paul Thorn, a native of good old rockin' blues country in Tupelo, Mississippi, did his first gigs at the age of three while traveling with his evangelist father, had a career as a professional boxer (he went seven rounds with Roberto Duran on national television), made chairs for a living, and goes skydiving for fun. The rich musical heritage of Paul's hometown is evident in his splendid mixture of musical moods, and his colorful history shapes the sharply observed songs on albums like his recent Mission Temple Fireworks Stand, of which Paul comments: "The songs and characters on this album will hopefully tell you a little bit about the road I've traveled, the people I've met, and some things I've learned along the way." Noted as a songwriter in Nashville-Tanya Tucker, Joe Diffie, Shenandoah, and Ronnie Milsap are among those who have recorded his songs-Paul brings his high-energy, live wire solo performance style to the Freight for an evening of jaw-dropping stories and great down-home music.
