Three veteran Bay Area performers present an enlightening evening of original song. Smithsonian Folkways artist, Jimmy Bruno, has spent the past three decades performing and writing songs, which have been recorded by Shawn Colvin, Mary Lou Lord, and Cliff Eberhardt. Jimmy has performed across the US and in Europe, and shared stages with the likes of Joe Ely, Lucy Kaplansky, and Greg Brown. Equally facile on guitar and English concertina, Berkeley's own political singer-songwriter extraordinaire Carol Denney has crafted an inimitable style with her songs of love, joy, and political struggle, delivered in one of the strongest voices to be heard among musicians in the Bay Area. Winner of the East Bay Express' readers' poll "Best Solo Performer" for 2002, Carol recently released The Cruel Lullaby, a collection of songs old and new. John Palme, known for penning songs full of wry humor, is reponsible for underground hits like "Winnebagos on the Rampage" and "It's All Right to be a Clod".
