This evening, dynamic jazz pianist Mike Greensill is sure to set the Freight swinging with his lyrical interpretations of original jazz tunes and new arrangements of great American songs, joined by guitar virtuoso Jim Nichols and superb bassist John Wiitala. Named outstanding jazz pianist in 1987 and 1988 by the San Francisco Council on Entertainment, Mike is perhaps best known as the musical director for vocalist Wesla Whitfield; he can also be heard weekly on NPR's West Coast Live show, where he's the resident piano player. In concert and on albums like his recent American Lullaby, Mike has established a reputation as a versatile mainstream jazz pianist, as well as a master arranger and composer. |
