Rick Shea and Brantley Kearns, members of Grammy-winning roots musician Dave
Alvin's band, explore the connections between contemporary west coast
country and folk and Appalachian roots music . A solid guitarist and
expressive singer, Rick represents the best of California's country music
legacy, maintaining and respecting tradition while creating original music
that sparkles between the grooves.
A premier fiddler and singer, Brantley, a
native North Carolinian, is a veteran player with the bands of Dwight Yoakum
and Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerrard. The two present an eclectic mix of
tunes from their new album Trouble and Me (Tres Pescadores):
everything from Buck Owens and Bob Wills classics to gems by folk icons Jim
Ringer and Mary McCaslin, along with their hard-driving originals.
