wicked humor w/gorgeous singing from Australian women's trio

Wicked humor, hot playing, fabulous songwriting, and gorgeous harmony singing -- all this and more are brought to the Freight stage by the bluehouse, one of Australia's premier live music acts. Since forming their trio nearly a decade ago in a Melbourne pub, Samantha Harley, Jacqueline Walter and Bernadette Carroll have gained attention and a devoted fan following in Australia and Britain, where the bluehouse has been favorably compared to kd lang and the Indigo Girls.

They may win hearts with their hilarious stage antics and heartfelt songs, but the centerpiece of the trio's performances is without question the achingly beautiful three-part harmonies they bring to bear on their unique blend of jazz, blues, soul, and rootsy pop.

Impressively enough, the bluehouse managed to fund the production of their most recent CD, big, entirely through advance mail-order sales.

Can such ardent fans possibly be wrong?
