Otis Taylor is an original artist who is passing on his folklore to both
old- and new-generation blues fans. His visionary cross-cultural folk style
explores the blues roots of a wide range of American traditional music,
offering, in the words of Blues Review writer, Ed Ivey, "A beautiful
history lesson about the contribution of black people to America's history."
Otis' most recently released album, last year's Respect the Dead
(Northernblues), is a haunting, introspective musical journey that helped
win him the 2002 W.C. Handy Blues Award for Best New Artist of the Year.
Based in Boulder, Colorado, Otis offers a powerful solo performance
featuring his soulful voice, as well as his fine guitar, slide guitar,
banjo, and harmonica talent. |
