Wyoming native Spencer Bohren offers a mystical combination of finely
crafted traditional blues, roots-inspired originals, and homespun
storytelling. An accomplished string player noted for his slide work,
Spencer's music is woven through with a thread of gospel that reaches back
to his childhood spent singing harmonies in the Baptist church.
Spencer
learned firsthand from living legends like ragtime genius Reverend Gary
Davis and bottleneck guitar ace Bukka White, putting in time in the Boulder
and Seattle folk scenes before finding his spiritual and musical home in the
cultural gumbo that is New Orleans, where he has twice been honored with Big
Easy Awards for Best Folk Artist. A veteran road musician, Spencer has
criss-crossed America with his family in an Airstream trailer and completed
over 30 international tours and 12 albums, most recently last year's
acclaimed Solitaire. |
