Widely respected as the premier woman fingerstyle guitarist on the scene today, Muriel Anderson plays with uncommon expressiveness and grace-not to mention unerring skill-melding her love of international folk music and impeccable classical technique to create a style all her own. The first woman to have won the National Fingerpicking Guitar Championship, Muriel combines the music of her mentors, Nashville legend, Chet Atkins and classical virtuoso, Christopher Parkening, with her own heart, style, and gentle sense of humor as she spans musical worlds from flamenco and Japanese koto music to the Beatles and Bach. An Illinois native now based in Nashville, Muriel has released a number of albums, most recently, Theme for Two Friends and the special edition recordings Music for Life and Journey Through Time.
