Seafarer, songwriter extraordinaire, masterful instrumentalist, and superb storyteller and painter of moods, Gordon takes his audiences over the bay and out to sea with rich and intensely beautiful songs inspired by life in Maine and the Maritime Provinces. Gordon grew up around the boatyards of Camden, Maine, and sailed on the old schooners that hail from that port, collecting sea songs along the way, to which he began adding his own gorgeous originals, accompanying himself on 6- and 12-string guitars, as well as instruments he designed himself like the Bok-whistle and cellamba, creating an unmistakable style full of power, gentle expression, and intricacy. In addition to performing solo in concert halls, coffeehouses and festivals throughout North America, Great Britain and Scandinavia, Gordon has toured for nearly 30 years with the trio Bok, Muir and Trickett, and released many albums, most recently this year's Dear To Our Island (Timberhead Music).
