top country songwriters

An inspiring performer and an exceptional songwriter, STEVE SESKIN has been a Freight favorite since the 1970s. Whether he is singing about humorous episodes from daily life, or poignant odes to love and family, Steve never fails to cast a spell with the intimacy and enthusiasm of his performances. Raised in New York City, Steve currently lives in the Bay Area, commuting to Nashville to maintain his career as a top songwriter whose music is recorded by the likes of John Michael Montgomery ("No Man's Land," "Life's a Dance"), Waylon Jennings ("Wrong"), and Tim McGraw ("Grown Men Don't Cry"). This year, Steve released his eleventh independent album, An Original.
In the past decade, ALLAN SHAMBLIN has established a firm place in the ranks of the great storytellers of country music. He has written more than 100 songs recorded by such artists as Willie Nelson, Dolly Parton, and Bonnie Raitt, including the Randy Travis chart-topping hit "He Walked On Water", which rocketed Shamblin to the forefront of the Nashville songwriting community. Born in Tennessee and raised in Texas, Allan moved to Nashville in the late 80s, signed on as a staff writer at Hayes Street Music/Almo Music Corp., and within nine months was making a name for himself with songs like "In This Life", "I Can't Make You Love Me", and "Don't Laugh At Me", cowritten with Steve Seskin.
