winners of the Freight's love song slam

The Freight and Salvage is the home of the longest running open mic in the Bay Area. Many of the folks who headline at The Freight came up through our open mic. In addition to our monthly events, open mic m.c., Gil Stancourt, will occasionally organize friendly "competitions" for the regular participants where the prize is a night at The Freight!! Tonight's show features the winners of our "Love Song Slam" which was held back in May. The evening was full of romance as the participants sang of love for another, love of themselves, love of their horse and the ever popular theme of "I don't love you anymore." With scores that were literally separated by tenths of a point, Rachel Efron, the duo Kin-fusion, pre-teenager Peter Romulus, and Michael Miller all came away with top honors. Tonight's show promises to be an exciting evening of emerging local songwriters.
