contemporary folk duo

The most endearing duo ever to grace the West Coast folk scene, Seattle-based Ginny Reilly and Bay Area resident David Maloney have been joining their voices in sweet harmony for decades. They played to packed houses throughout the '70s and '80s, and shared stages with the likes of Judy Collins, Earl Scruggs, and Greg Brown. The duo's wonderful blend of voices and ability to mix the best of others' material with their own solid songwriting talent are truly outstanding (just listen to a retrospective like A CollectionReilly & Maloney, released in 2000 on Pelican Records). In 1991, after seven albums and more than 3,000 concerts, the 1,000-mile distance between their respective home bases led the two to stop touring and pursue their own separate interests, David to expand his childrens' repertoire and Ginny to branch out into jazz music. To the delight of their fans, however, Ginny and David began playing together again last year, in performances of songs old and new that are a celebration of the enduring friendship of two of acoustic music's most vital artists.
