Pianist Hurricane Sam Rudin is an exciting performer with lightning fast fingers, sure-handed clarity, and the rhythmic intensity of a swing band. Combining blues, jazz, honky-tonk, and rock & roll, he evokes the earthiness of Fats Waller and the frantic energy of Jerry Lee Lewis. With a rough-hewn voice that conveys both drama and humor, Sam's music reflects the whole range of American 20th century vernacular music. Sam's over-the-top energy and style can be heard on his current album, Piano Madness (Blue Rock-it). Joining Sam on-stage is Matt Eakle, flute virtuoso with the David Grisman Quintet.
