It is our bittersweet privilege to inform Freightgoers that, after nearly two decades of propelling enthusiastic audiences through their irresistible musical time-warp to the charm and elegance of the swing era, perennial favorites, Cats & Jammers, will be gracing our stage as a trio for the last time in two "farewell weekend" performances. As they pay tribute to the 1930s and 1940s with tunes by the likes of Duke Ellington, Louis Jordan, the Boswell Sisters, the Mills Brothers, and the Delta Rhythm Boys, peerless repartist Piper Heisig on bass, silver-throated Sylvia Herold on guitar, and the ineffably dapper Tony Marcus on violin, guitar, and saxophone, never fail to enthrall with their soaring vocals and inventive musical arrangements (not to mention those killer hats). Before the trio head off into the sunset in that famous 1940 Buick, each to follow the call of a blossoming new career, they are offering us two final nights to savor the hot swing, low-down blues, and timeless good taste of everyone's favorite bygone era. |
