After a string of country hits in the Desert Rose Band, Berkeley-born banjo player Herb Pedersen and bassist Bill Bryson unplug and get back to their roots; both are veteran bluegrass players, having worked with notables ranging from The Dillards, Vern & Ray, the Bluegrass Cardinals, and David Grisman. The group features four-part vocal harmonies and hot instrumentals which have that traditional bluegrass flavor, but with a relaxed, west coast attitude. Mandolinist Kenny Blackwell, guitarist Roger Reed, and violinist Gabe Witcher, round out the quintet. The band has released three albums, most recently, Back on the Street Again (Sugar Hill).
