leading fingerstyle guitarist

Dale Miller, one of the Bay Area's most respected and influential fingerstyle guitarists, coaxes a sweet and mellow tone from his custom Martin and vintage National steel-body, resonator guitars. He applies his seemingly effortless yet technically superb style to blues, ragtime, and jazz standards as well as to his original compositions. Dale became an established acoustic music star with his mid-1970's release, Fingerpicking Rags and Other Delights. Now available in CD format, this highly influential album has inspired several generations of fingerstyle guitarists, as have Dale's six subsequent recordings. Dale recently broke new musical ground with the CD Azzurro Verdi, an elegant album of opera arias arranged for solo blues guitar, from Puccini's "Signore Ascolta" to Dvorák's "Song to the Moon," with the occasional blues lick thrown in for good measure.
