acoustic guitar artistry

Praised by Guitar Player magazine for "the poetry and elegance of his bouyant, graceful compositions," Italian-born steel string guitarist Peppino D'Agostino combines technical prowess with a rich, lyrical approach that is reminiscent of his Mediterranean heritage. Dynamic rhythms, unconventional tunings, and evocative melodies mark Peppino's compositions, and he's known for his remarkable method of playing the fretboard with the left hand while simultaneously creating percussive effects with the right, resulting in a complex mini-symphony of sound that seems impossible for one lone guitar to produce. Peppino, who now resides in the Bay Area, has released eight critically acclaimed albums, most recently last year's Classic/Steel in collaboration with classical guitarist David Tanenbaum; he also composes film soundtracks and maintains an international touring schedule that stretches from Carnegie Hall to The Atrium in Prague.
