Traditional bluegrass and western swing fans: kick up your heels, the Byron Berline band is coming to town! Byron and his band play with rousing skill, wit, and irresistible charm, and who could ask for more than that? Byron is one of the most inventive players around, continually expanding the possibilities of bluegrass with elements of jazz, pop, blues, rock and traditional country. In the nearly five decades since he learned to play from his father, Byron has fiddled with just about everyone in -- and out -- of bluegrass, from Bill Monroe and Bob Dylan to Emmylou Harris and the Rolling Stones. In addition to performing throughout the world, Byron runs the Double Stop Fiddle Shop and Music Hall at home in Guthrie, Oklahoma. The band, including legendary banjo virtuoso, John Hickman, plus Jim Fish on guitar, Richard Sharp on upright bass, and Steve Short on drums, add their stellar musicianship to Byron's, cooking up a mighty tasty mix. Byron and the band's most recent album releases are, Live at the Music Hall and One-Eyed Jack.
