Last October our open mic team put together a competition loosely based on the Survivor television series. The evening was a huge success and the four survivors were recently showcased here at The Freight. Well, we've put together yet another friendly playoff, this one loosely based on the poetry slam format. We call it Love Song Slam, a theme we picked to honor the arrival of spring. This will be a fast paced, fun filled competition where the contestants will perform original songs dealing with all aspects of falling in, being in and falling out of love. This promises to be one of our most exciting open mic events to date. You'll laugh, you'll cry....
