An exuberant and multi-talented performer, Barbara Higbie's rich, varied musical life includes studying classical piano and violin, living in and immersing herself in the musical culture of Ghana, and breaking new ground with the jazz-folk-bluegrass band Montreux. Accompanied by singer Teresa Trull, pianist Katrina Krimsky, violinist David Balakrishnan, and bassist Benny Rietveld, Barbara celebrates her return to her Bay Area residence after two years in the midwest, showcasing her striking gifts as a composer, virtuoso instrumentalist, and stirring singer with an uncommon ability to communicate simple pleasure and effervescent joys.
